چکیده

Introduction Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a common complication of both type 1 (T1D) and 2 diabetes (T2D). No cure for DPN available, but several potential targets have been proposed treatment. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are known to respond hyper- hypoglycemia. can be diagnosed using electrophysiology studied nerve biopsies. Aim This study aimed analyze the presence patterns HSPs in biopsies from subjects with T1D, T2D, healthy controls. Methods Posterior interosseous nerves (PIN) total 56 T1D ( n = 9), T2D 24), without (i.e., controls, 23) were harvested under local anesthesia prepared quantitative mass spectrometry analysis. Protein intensities associated data ulnar morphometry same PIN, differences protein between groups analyzed. Results In total, 32 different identified quantified specimens. statistically significant observed regarding groups. Furthermore, did not correlate amplitude or conduction velocity myelinated fiber density PIN. Conclusion Quantitative proteomics used biopsies, no clear quantities this cohort.

Prevalence of depression among type 2 diabetes compared to healthy non diabetic controls.

AIMS Successful diabetes management depends on patient behaviour. Diabetes is a significant risk factor for depression which itself is a risk factor for poor metabolic control. Data on this association is scarce from India--which is fast becoming the diabetes capital of the world. This study was done to see the prevalence of depression in adult patients with type 2 diabetes diagnosed within the...

Less pronounced response to exercise in healthy relatives to type 2 diabetic subjects compared with controls.

Healthy first-degree relatives with heredity of type 2 diabetes (FH+) are known to have metabolic inflexibility compared with subjects without heredity for diabetes (FH-). In this study, we aimed to test the hypothesis that FH+ individuals have an impaired response to exercise compared with FH-. Sixteen FH+ and 19 FH- insulin-sensitive men similar in age, peak oxygen consumption (V̇o2 peak), and...

EVALUATION OF SERUM CHITINASE-3 LIKE 1 PROTEIN AND C-REACTIVE PROTEIN LEVELS IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS WITH CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE COMPARED TO DIABETIC AND HEALTHY CONTROL

Background: Diabetes mellitus, which is associated with elevated blood glucose, lipids and liver enzymes, may results in alterations in the production of inflammatory cytokines, including chitinase-3-like protein 1 (YKL-40) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), which induce and promote complications of diabetes such as atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the serum ...
